Maybe Linda Lael Miller’s modern-day Texas romance, Tate, has crept into the top 20 on the New York Times best-seller list because women can’t resist a cowboy. Or more likely it’s because one of the things Miller does so well is capture the spirit of Small Town, U.S.A.
